DAFT PUNK
STUDIO ERGONOMICS
With the Alive 2007 tour coming to an end, Daft Punk had big plans in the studio. After landing the monumental job of creating the original Tron soundtrack they needed to find their first permanent Los Angeles studio residency. Having deep roots with the LA recording scene, I was brought on board to help find their new home. Creating an atmosphere that would heighten all things creative was number one priority. After visiting every major studio we were able to find a perfect match with Jim Henson Studios. I prepared multiple room designs that would follow best practices for acoustic treatment, sound flow, studio ergonomics, and most importantly produce a creative and productive workflow for the robot duo.
Shortly after the Tron project wrapped the frenchmen were full speed ahead on their 4th album, Random Access Memories. Loving the vibe of Jim Henson they wanted to stay in the same studio but needed a bigger room that would allow multiple artists to come through and collaborate. Having great success on their first studio design I was once again brought on to help facilitate the design of their new workspace.
